Oct. 2nd, 2003 06:28 pmI see a lame crow sometimes.
He hops in the grass on one foot looking for food.
He stands on one foot with the other curled beneath his black belly like a reptilian claw.
It doesn't seem hard for him to look for food.
He flies away from me if I approach him like any other crow.
He perches.
The lame crow is not different.
He functions the same as other crows on one foot and black wings.
What does this mean?
Why is there a lame crow?
And why do I think about it after I see it?
There are a lot of crows.
Lots of animals get hurt.
It's not the same bird as it was last time.
But it is. I can tell.
There is something to this.
Something important.
But I can't see it.
