I've been on a music kick for hours now... playing it obsessively. I'm listening to Beethoven en-rapture. There is something to be said for turning off the lights, burning some incense, and just reveling in the glory of really amazing music.

I learned something about Beethoven music though. Aside from the fact that it is some of the most beautiful music ever written, it is also some of the most dramatic and expressive music and, as in drama and comedy, timing is everything. If you have an interpretation of the piece that is timed wrong, the tempo is a little too fast, it just kinda looses something.

Listening to The Moonlight Sonata when it feels slightly rushed is just kind of disheartening.

Letter to self:

Dear me,

No, you do not want to see "Lady in the Water." No, the previews to not look interesting. Ok, they do. But, the previews for the other M Night movies did too. Please stop looking up when they come on TV.

Did you learn nothing from "The Village"? Remember how good you thought that one was going to be?

*Slaps hand*

Stop considering going to see it.

Love, Me

I am about to kick my own ass here.

Allison, I saw "Ice Princess" in theatres and begged my mom for the DVD, and I still won't see "Lady in the Water" if somebody forced me into a chair and wired my eyelids open. Does that help?

The Inlander gave it the big giant turkey. Also, I'm pretty sure you can find a play-by-play of the entire script on the Internet with little difficulty, so that'll save you the $8.50.

The Village was just very, very, very poorly concieved, for the sake of a "twist", a surprise ending that was just weak in every way.

The thing about it was I was into it. I was fasinated for the first half of the movie and WANTED to know what the deal with this place was.

Then when we found out it was just... awful.
