crowwitchSo, I don't go to class today. I doubt my prof cares. He's been listening to me hack and languish in his classroom like a Victorian heroine for two weeks so I'm sure he understands.
It's just been strange. Usually when I have a cough it's because there is congestion down deep in my lungs between my ribs and I cough it up. This time it's been a scratcy, itchy, tickle in my upper chest behind my brestbone that's been VERY uncomfortable. My back and ribs have ached from coughing and even though I haven't been sick or with a fever I haven't been able to sleep and I've been MOST exhusted just from the physical act of coughing that much.
So, I go to the doctor and it's an infection in my upper bronchial system. He said I was doing the right thing by gargaling with salt water to keep my cough-torn throat from getting infected and getting sicker. He gave me some antibiotics and some killer, heavy-duty primo industeral strengh cough syrup with codene to make me unconcious.
Woot.
Oh well, at least there's not blood in what I've been coughing up anymore.
I think I'm improving but I'm glad to be getting some help.
I have to sing on the 8th so I don't want to be in bad health. I've been really nervous about that.
Oh well, back to 20th century lit study and piles of books.
