End of October start of November
Nov. 3rd, 2010 03:33 pmI love Halloween!
I got REALLY sick last week. I had some kind of blockage and was in a lot of abdominal pain. By the time the weekend rolled around I was better, but still feeling kinda delicate. Besides, I wasn't able to finish my costume anyway, so I just wrote it off.
Still, Halloween movies and passing out candy at home were a lot of fun! I finally saw "The Evil Dead" For the first time, and discovered "Repo! The Genetic Opera." Repo is phenomenal BTW. I love the goth trappings and death metal overtimes mixed with the traditional opera conventions. Really theatrical and nuts.. lots of fun.
Now, nanowrimo starts. And, I wrote 0 words yesterday. Would you like to know WHY?
Yesterday, my computer crashed. No, literally. My computer desk broke, the monitor was dropped into my lap, Cords were yanked around dragging everything into a big pile. Luckily, I've got one of those new flat skinny monitors. A big one would have killed me. LOL I wasn't hurt and nothing broke, thank goodness.I just had to extricate myself and extricate my computer and re-set it on the stool that goes to my dressing table. Ugh!
So here I am, in my computer chair, looking DOWN at my monitor on my dressing table stool with my keyboard on my lap. Fun. Very conducive to writing, let me tell you.
I'm so glad I have a laptop.
In other news, I got paid for my first writing gig. I deposited a check from a water district who paid me to write the text and do the artwork for a coloring book to teach kids water conservation tips.
I'm not happy with the drawings and the text is merely cute, but it was so nice to get paid for writing. Besides, it's resume fodder. Woo hoo!
Anyway, I hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween and good luck to those in Nanowrimo!
