And it started out so well...

Friday I had the meeting with the teacher I got placed to work with this quarter. I have a placement! Squee! So, Friday morning I got up extra early and, since the school I'm placed at is near my mom's work, I just rode to work with her and hung out until my appointment time. It was nice.

The teacher is great. I'm with a really great master teacher that I really think I'm going to enjoy working with. I'm excited.

I took the bus home (see former post about Assman) and got ready for a Doctor appointment. Nothing serious, I've just been having some digestive problems. She wanted a blood sample to check and see if it was my thyroid. No big deal.

The nurse who took my arm wound up, somehow, messing up my vein so it didn't close and was bleeding into my muscle and I got a hemotoma in my arm and a clot on my major arm vein. On the drive home from the doctor I noticed that my arm was horrible swolen and was just not normal. I called the nurse and she told me that it wasn't a huge deal, I just needed to put pressure on it to stop the sub dermal bleeding and keep it over my heart, and that it would probably bruise a lot but nothing major.

So, armed with that I didn't want to miss the troupe's show so I went anyway to see my ladies Bellydance. It was great. But, at intermission the swelling had gone from below my elbow to above it (Probably because I'd had it elevated) and was just being strange, so I left and went to urgent care to have them look at it.

The really weird thing about it was is that I was not doing well. I'm a bit funny when it comes to injuries. I get shaky very easily. If I take a fall or get hurt, sometimes after an injury I get very shaky and and light-headed. I get dizzy and have ringing in my ears. Not all the time, it's just a wierd thing. I think the level at my body goes into some kind of physical shock or trauma mode is lower than normal.

Anyway, all Friday after my arm started swelling and I started having trouble I got very dizzy and weak and shaky feeling. I even started to cry for absolutely no reason a few times.

Maybe it was the stress, because I really was frightened when I started having strange swellings in my arms. Maybe it was an actual blood-loss thing from the bleeding into my muscle. Maybe it was just my body doing some kind of "Uh oh! Problem! Must produce fight-or-flight responce chemicals!" Or, maybe the change in the circulation in my arm actually inturrupted my body's own natural flow of energy and that was causing me problems.

Maybe it was all of the above... but I was in bad shape Friday evening.

I'm also dissapointed that I missed half of my teachers' show. I'd been looking forward to that.

Saturday I was very sick. Horrible migrane, very weak, fever and nausea. I went to work anyway. I shouldn't have, but oh well. Miserable day but at least my job doesn't involve... you know... work or anything. More hours on my time card and more money.

I feel better today but stayed home from working with the kids at the chruch just to be safe. I start my observations at the school on Monday and have a big week, so I thought it was best to take it easy.

Anyway... Crazy.
