Wish me luck!

After many months of teaching myself bellydance with videos in my living room, I have my first dance class today.

As good as it could have been!

So, I just got back from my first bellydance lesson.

I’m so excited!

It turns out I’m only the second person to sign up for their beginners class. I got there early to finalize the payment and everything and the whole troop was there in rehearsal and I got to watch them go through the routine for the last time before they left and was introduced to everyone. The other woman who signed up was ill and couldn’t come, so it was just the two lead dancers from the troupe (both excellent) and me in a lesson all to myself.

Who could ask for anything more?

The kicker is they LOVED me! I’m so excited! They said that I was very talented and a really good dancer. They said my isolation was excellent and that, while I need some practice and refinement in technique, that I had the moves down really well. That and I felt like the three of us were just getting along really well too. We laughed and had a lot of fun and I learned a lot.

I’m really happy about it. It went as well as it could have possibly gone.
