Yesterday was a very good day
Sep. 30th, 2005 08:56 amI was surprised. Given the phone call with Rude!Prof last week I assumed that she was going to go over with me every time I was late for class or turned in an assignment without being sure of all the requirements and she had to tell me to add something and blame the fact that I don't have a placement on my "lack of professionalism." Even though that is clearly not the case.
Anyway, that wasn't it at all. She just wanted to go through the information the other woman who was trying to make sure it was all accurate. There was no problem whatsoever.
Actually she was very polite and friendly and helpful, and even complementery saying how good I'd be at certian projects and tudoring jobs that are open and that I should look into volunteering for extra credit and stuff and trying to help me out.
I almost felt guilty for refering to her as Professor Umbridge.
So, that was easy. The only problem is that they want me to have a quater of 340 before I do student teaching in the school I will be doing my student teaching in, even though I already did my 420 at a different school. Apparently I was just waisting my time. *rolls eyes* Oh well, I'll just look on the brightside. That's one more teacher who's seen me teach and can put reviews in my teaching file.
The more the better.
The bad news is:
1. That is two quarters this will take, not just one.
2. I will have to pay for tuition as I have to take the 420 for only 3 credits and financial aid doesn't cover 3 credits.
3. If they find me a placement for 420 next quarter and I student teach the quarter after that, I have to wait till the following fall before I get a teaching job. That means I'm stuck here for another year. I know that living at home, working, and saving money until I graduate is the responcible and intellegent thing to do. And I know I can't work when I student teach and I'd have to do something anway and this is the best place for me, but I'm just feeling kind of trapped. *moan*
Oh well... maybe I can get a summer job next summer after I student teach and be moved out before school starts next fall. Then I can move from part time to full time and start subbing until I get a full-time teaching job.
I'm also kind of glad that Spokane has NO teaching jobs and there are other states that are BEGGING for teachers and it'll be easy to get a teaching job if I'm willing to move.
Boy, am I.
Arnold has driven all the teachers out of California. Seriously, at the teacher's job fair all of the California schools were hiring ON THE SPOT and PAYING to move people down there and teach. He won't be in office much longer and I wouldn't mind CA. It's sunny and there are hippies and actors and a lot of arts and film and theatre industries. And it isn't that far to visit friends and family.
I could live in California.
Oh well, I'm just fantasizing.
Anyway, we brought my car home yesterday. It's parked outside the house. I'm driving today. I'll take pictures as soon as I get my bumper sticker I'll wash the car and put the stickers on and take some pictures and post them.
I really is a cute car!
